5th Annual Bay St. George Mi’kmaq Pow Wow
“Igniting The Flame”
Route 403,Flat Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador
First Nation’s people in the area have the opportunity, during the Pow Wow , to meet with traditional teachers and to take on sharing workshops on areas of aboriginal life such as Medicine Wheel teachings, Sweat Lodges, Mi’kmaq Songs and Chants, and storytelling. These initial teachings will be the building blocks for the continued re-awakening of traditional ways of life of the Mi’kmaq and an introduction for many people to the way of life of their ancestors.
The Pow Wow will start with Grand Entry at 1:00 pm on Saturday and will be a feast of sound, colour, movement, and tradition. Join with people from across the globe, who have found their way to this special event. Come to share the renewal of family ties and friendship, but most importantly, the Culture that was nearly lost.
